Early Education
David Goldsmith received an early education in art at New York. Finding
artistic expression in science as well he gained BS and Ph.D degrees. He
then joined the faulty at a prominent eastern university where he rose
to the rank of Full Professor and served as Chair of his department in
the 1980’s.
Teaching
During his faculty years while teaching and carrying on an active
research program, he maintained, as well, an abiding interest in
photography. Since the 1990’s he has been working in digital photography
acquiring images with both digital cameras and scanning techniques.
Photography
Employing Adobe Photoshop since its introduction he has become skilled
in the use of this tool for the editing and printing of digital images.
He has given many presentations of digital photographic techniques, and
his inkjet color, and black and white prints have been shown in
exhibitions at a number of galleries. After years of teaching science he
now also teaches digital photography with a course "Photoshop: for
Photographers".
